Term two extracurricular activities

We have the extracurricular activities (ECA’s) for term two organised and ready for students to sign up. For Term two, ECA’s will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays only. The school bus will leave at 4pm on Mondays to allow bus students the chance to participate.

Term two ECA’s will run for 11 weeks and finish before the last week of term. Students can select any activity they wish but their are limits that apply so first in first served. Students can change their ECA only during the first week of ECA’s.

All ECA’s start from Monday 12 January.

Meditation (Monday)

Would you like to learn about mindfulness or find ways to relax yourself? The mindfulness ECA will teach you methods to get present, find ways to relax, and get some relief during a busy week.

Basketball (Monday)

Basketball time! During this ECA students will learn to work together as a team, develop communication skills and build up self-confidence. Practicing basketball (or sports in general) also offers numerous health benefits but it also a great way to have fun. The regular practice of this sport will increase physical strength and endurance as well, helps improve balance.

Student Council (Monday)

”A student Council is a group of student leaders who work with an adult supervisor to collaborate with others to impact their school community, which impacts their city or town, which impacts our state, which impacts our country, which changes the world.”

During this ECA students will have the unique opportunity to learn organisation, leadership and teamwork skills while sharing their ideas and planning activities for the school.

Foundations Club (Monday)

Each week students will be doing something different that will fun, interesting and developmentally appropriate for this age group.  These activities will vary from an exciting nature walk, bug hunting, indoor play, building with legos to painting, playdough fun or storytime. This is sure to keep everyone engaged while giving them time to socialise.

Games  (Thursday)

Welcome to the Game Club. Each week members of Year 1-Year 4 will meet on Thursdays to play traditional board games with their friends.  Students will learn to play, or even teach their friends how to play classic games such as Drafts, Snakes and Ladders, Dominoes and many more. This club will encourage everyone to share, take turns and enjoy playing games with children who they may not normally play with during the school day.

Chinese language club (Thursday)

This class will provide fun activities for students to enhance their Chinese language.  The class will be full of games, songs, stories and interactive play for students to practice this language.

Football (Thursday)

Who wants to play football? If you want to have fun and learn to play this great sport then this is the right ECA for you. Students will work together as a team, develop communication skills and build up self-confidence. Practising football (or sports in general) also offers numerous health benefits, increases physical strength and endurance as well, helps improve balance in a fun and competitive way.
