AI@UDIS

At Udon Thani International School (UDIS) we have examined the implications for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on our learning programmes. Our leadership team have developed a number of guidelines and expectations for the use of AI within the school. AI can include things like ChatGPT.

Within our Primary Years (Years 1-6) we don’t expect AI to be used with learners. However, for Years 4-6 our teaching staff will begin to engage with learners in how AI can best be used within their classrooms.

For our Middle Years and Diploma Programme (Years 7-13), AI is governed by our academic integrity policy. This requires appropriate referencing for any material they source (including the use of AI). Learners’ can be held accountable against our academic integrity policy if they don’t acknowledge use of this. This can also be a fail criteria for the Diploma Programme if the work of others is passed off as a learner’s own work. UDIS provides support and training for learners in how to meet the requirements of our academic integrity policy.

The school will also seek to use AI where it can to improve productivity and communications to best support the needs of our community as well.

UDIS is ever changing, and we welcome the ability to use new tools like AI to support our community and to educate our learners in how to best use these tools.
